Sky box slow to respond

My Sky box is experiencing several problems. It is slow to respond to remote (the batteries are new), programmes will not fast forward, some programmes freeze (stating "There is a problem with this channel), the red record light is permanently on (even though nothing being recorded or downloaded)

Have you tried a power off and on sequence?  If this doesn't resolve it then you may need a replacement box.

I am just another Sky customer and my views are my own even if you don't like the answers
