I cancelled my sky q subscription and returned the hardware. I have been left with the aerial lead which I'm assuming connects to the dish. I'm trying to connect this to my Samsung tv to get access to regular channels ie BBC C4 ITV etc. I have bought the adaptors so the lead now fits in the aerial port at the back of my TV but I'm still not receiving any regular channels? Can anyone help ?
hi @xkalesx
When SKY Q was installed they will have changed the electronc bit on the dish called an LNB.
This is a different type (a Wideband LNB) to those used with Freesat TVs & older Freesat Tuners (a universal LNB)
If you want to watch Freesat you will either have to arrange for the LNB to be changed back or you could get a Freesat 4K box that will also work with the LNB now on your dish/
EDIT : After reading @oldfella 's post I realise I have mis-read your post - please see his reply which I think is more relevant in this case

Hi @xkalesx
If they are Satellite dish cables then they will not work with TV's.
You need a Terrestrial aerial if you are trying to receive Freeview channels

you cannot plug satellite feeds into a standard RF aerial socket.
as above, either erect an earial or purchase a freesat 4K box.
