Sky a mini box not getting Wi-Fi signal in new room

Moved sky q minibox to new room in house but could not access Wi-Fi and iPhone didn't connect either!!, have broadband boost too!!

If you have Wi-Fi Max on your account then Sky will supply up to 3 pods as you can read about here:

@Redstrpesleslie does this room have foil faced insulation boards in the walls by any chance? Metallic foil blocks wifi.signal and is quite common in new extentions . If that applies the best solution is to buy a Powerline Networking kit which uses the mains wiring to carry the data. You can buy the kits to include a wifi access point you would need to connect the Q mini to thecadapter by ethernet and connect other devices to thecadapter's wifi. That solutionalso applies if the room is a long way from the hub in the main property.

 

Just adding a new Sky Max booster might help the phone etc the Q mini cannot be connected to the pod instead it has to connect to a closed signal from the main Q box so would require a different Sky booster which is comptable with Sky Q but cannot connect your other devices.
