Sky UHD subscription but i only have an old box 32B057

I pay £4 a month for UHD but I still have a very old sky Q box 32B057. The picture really isn't any different to HD. If I compare to 4k through my smart tv the picture is very inferior. Am I basically paying for UHD when I'm not getting this?

Hi @Winx49   32B0xx box outputs UHD exactly the same as the 32B1xx and 32B2xx boxes. What it doesn't have is HDR. You should be able to upgrade to a HDR box by contacting Sky and paying an admin fee. You are paying and getting Sky UHD with a 32B0xx box.

hi @Winx49

That is a UHD capable box but only in SDR.

I know some people see little difference between UHD in SDR and their TV upscaling HD

It does depend on various factors invcluding your usual viewing modes and the source.

The big difference is usually seen with HDR which unfortunately your box isn't capable of - to get an HDR box, unfortunately SKY charge an upgrade fee
