Sky TV Service can no longer be depended upon got your main TV Service

So after buying in to the Sky brand for 30 years or so. I am now done. The technology sucks and has taken a backward leap.

Sky Q main box and 4 mini boxes. It's kind of been reliable since install many years ago. I never signed up to Sky Broadband. Don't put all your eggs in one basket logic.

However, the service is no longer working. Either on WiFi or Ethernet  connectivity. For at least 4 months now I can't get it to work. Every night the Mini boxes do not work in any room. It's like we have gone back in time. The amount of time involved in trying to get it to work is no longer worth it. Switching from WiFi to Ethernet after it resets itself. Then it doesn't work anyway. Reboot your router. Reboot sky Q main box. Reboot mini boxes. Reconnect to sky q. Reboot network. ONG I am done. The Sky technology absolutely sucks.

All of the other Streaming providers tech works great. I have 1Gb FTP and -about 609mbps WiFi. Everything works but Sky. Shame it has to end this way but £130 per month savings to be had. I'd be happy to continue paying but I can't when it actually doesn't work.

shame on Sky from going from being a great tech brand to probably the worst on the planet,

When using ethernet, do you have wifi disabled on all the boxes?

I'm curious: does the absence of a flood of similar posts in this forum not suggest your individual installation (one of many millions in the UK) is broken and requires the attention of the provider to resolve, which they will do at no charge to yourself?

I saw a broken iPhone yesterday, so Apple is clearly competing for the title....

WiFi has been disabled. It defaults to WiFi at every opportunity. WiFi is the default option for Sky Q connectivity between main Q box and Mini's. Just don't have Broadband from another provider if it is to work.

i have BT with Netgear Orbi router and WiFi extenders. Mesh network. Brilliant for everything but Sky.

I've never used Sky broadband (BT and now EE), always used WiFi for main Sky Q to router, and Sky WiFi link between main & mini, never had any problems.

Sure, let's do individual user stories.

I pay for the full package, I have Q and a mini box and EE 900 broadband.

I use a WiFi connection to my router in the same room.

I have buffering issues on my apps, and my Netflix app records my speed as 30mb.

Prime seems the worst for buffering.

Wouldn't it be useful for the SkyQ software to have a speed test feature so you can identify bottlenecks.

Hi @Qanon   Most people use the Get help, Check your network feature in Netflix. It obviously depends on whether you have Netflix or not.

While I agree with you that wifi on the Q is a dog's breakfast, wifi should not be able to turn itself back on.

Are you sure you disabled it? Through the special installer menu?
