Sky Stream to Sky Q

Hi, I'm out of contract for Stream now and I'll be moving next month.

I want to go for Sky Q next time and was going to cancel my Stream and then order Q when I move, and during my notice period for Stream.

What's the best way to do this please? I don't think I can order Q on my sky account for a new address whilst in the Stream notice period and don't want to set up a new account with a new email as then any free movies you get for Sky Store will be under the new Sky Store account. As I have Sky Store purchases, I wanted to have the same account.

Thanks

Probably best to phone Sky and see what your options are. Wait times for Sky Q installations can be several weeks now due to the smaller number of engineers.
If you have a guaranteed moving in date at your new address and don't want to be without Sky TV then just take your puck with you and notify Sky of the address change.
After the move you can ring them and ask to switch to Q. I think to do that they have to cancel your Stream contract immediately so you'll only have access to Sky Go until Q can be installed.

Isn't there a way to prefer sky Q in advance whilst keeping Steam as an overlap?

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more

You'll have to speak to Sky to see what they can arrange.

I am just another Sky customer and my views are my own even if you don't like the answers

Not on the same account, no. You can only have one or the other. Sky Q cannot be ordered while there is an active Stream account.

It sounds like I'll need to set up a new sky account with a new email to get around this?

You could try that. As long as there's no existing Sky account at the address you're moving to.
Personally I'd worry about everything else related to the home move first, move Sky down the priority list and sort it out once I was in the new place & the dust had settled. If you can't live without Sky TV then just get a NOW TV subscription for a month.
