Surely it's just a matter of what broadcast rights Sky are willing to pay the host broadcaster for? I'm sure they could have full replays if they pay for them.

FYI
My email to Sky..........
With a lot of matches running late into the evening or early morning, the facility to select a match and watch a full replay, not highlights, interspersed with interminable adverts for Sky Sports, later the following day is/was invaluable. Needles to say the previous provider managed this, but it would seem this is not possible on Sky.
Also, the UHD image varies from channel to channel. The picture can be OK on one UHD channel but abysmal on another, too bright and the colours like painting from numbers. For example, Monday’s day session on Ashe, Fritz vs Johnson on Main Event, had horrible colours, the Ashe Night Session on the same channel was fine. Conversely the Armstrong night session, Tsitsipas/Raonic on ‘Action’ was awful. I guess this is how it comes from the host broadcaster. Presumably, you are paying good money for this poor feed as we are for this inadequate service.
Not good. Please fix it.
Sky Viewer Relations reply.............
Thank you for your email to Sky Sports regarding our coverage of the 2023 US Open Tennis.
I am sorry to read that you are not enjoying our coverage of the tennis.
Sky Sports does make every match available to view via the main coverage on Sky Sports Tennis and our Red Button service. There are also highlights published for individual matches and a selection of full matches made available On Demand from each day of play. We also replay matches from the previous day on the Tennis channel.
Sky Sports always values feedback from our viewers. Your comments have been noted and passed to the Sky Sports team for their information.
Thanks again for taking the time to share your views on our coverage.
My reply to that.........
Thanks for the response.
You do, indeed, make every match available live, but that is probably, due to the time difference between New York and the UK, not at the time they are wanted to be viewed. What is required is for replays of all matches to be available, as were supplied by Eurosport/Discovery for the previous ‘Slams and by Amazon Prime for select ATP tournaments.
As far as I can see, you provide full replays of just two matches per day on the Tennis Channel, which may or may not be the matches all viewers want to see.
I did have a Sky Sports App (Sky Sports.exe) on my laptop which I never used but all it does now is divert to the Sky Sports Website. There is pretty much nothing on Catch up TV on the Sky Q box. Where, pray, can I find this selection of match replays ‘On Demand’?
.........Am awaiting a reply.

@Tennisdad . Thank God someone is flying the flag of proper tennis lovers in the UK. Many thanks.
If SKY don't rectify this they will lose money!

Sorry to tell you this but I had verbatim the same reply from Viewer relations on the subject of replays, so there is clearly just a stock answer being trotted out.
Sure, all matches are being made available to view, but only once unless they fall into the "selected" replays which btw contains 3 mins of adverts before you get to the tennis, frankly I couldn't be bothered.

good morning
instead of enjoying tennis to day we will have the dilemma of having to choose which match of the 6 Brits being played. knowing that we will not have the opportunity of watching later only little highlights tomorroww
SHAME ON YOU SKY

I also had word for word the same response from Sky.
Whats the chances this stock email reply was chosen before the tournament even started, designed to be sent in response to any complaint about the coverage.
My email was solely about the lack of full match replays - the reply didnt address this at all.
I wont be holding my breath about this problem being resolved anytine in future - if they cant or wont make this fundemental requirement work for the US Open, their flagship event, then what chances for the rest of the tennis season.
Can't describe how frustrated and disappointed i am with this. 😡

Thanks everyone who has posted as I have read them all.
We are avid tennis fans and obviously watched it on Prime but do not subscribe to Sky sports due to cost, same reason for F1. However am seriously thinking of getting the "Tennis tv" channel.
It strikes me that Sky are making a hash of it. I watched Sky Showcase on Tuesday and agreed that Sky want you to watch adverts and the studio talk. Gigi Salmon drove me wild with frustration. Twittering on. Obviously I shall have to miss the US OPEN, But would like to hear anyone's views on the Tennis channel.

HI glad you could join us Sorry cannot help you with 'tennis channel'
It is true what they say 'you don't know what you had til you don't have it anymore '
and boy did we have it all with PRIME
I am devistated when I think of all those tournaments i am going to miss .

I have had Tennis TV off and on for the last couple of years - its comparable to Prime in its quality as you can get full match replays and easy to access.
The only downside i have found is their homepage can sometimes have pictures from a tournamant which can effectively spoil the results if you see a player holding the trophy for example but once you get used to where to avoid looking you can get past this.
Hope this helps.

I agree entirely with everyones comments.
I recently subscribed to this additional package looking forward to watching all the matches at my lesiure and discovered it's an absolutely useless service as is with no facility to record and save all the matches!
I will be cancelling and giving the 31 days notice. I doubt I will renew in 2024 unless Sky take on board all these comments and offer a comparable service to that of Amazon Prime!
Come on Sky get your act together otherwise you will be losing a lot of custom!

Thank you so much for your views on the Tennis channel. I am still thinking about it all, am even thinking of switching to BT as what they offer is cheaper than Sky. I have been with Sky now for 23 years so its probably time to move on.

With three brits playing at the same time, the commentary team keep harping on that you can watch every ball of every match on every court. They fail to mention you will need at least 10 devices to watch them on!

well played 🤣
wonder how MR SKY sleeps at night 🤑

It's a waste of money
Amazon Prime a lot better
with Sky you can not watch replays of your choice
