Sky Remote to Sky Q via extender?

We've moved our Sky Q box into a media unit so we don't have line of sight for our remote. The Bluetooth one still (obviously) functions fine.

Can you use any type of 'eye' to allow the LOS remote to still work and if so is there a recommended one?

Probably not that helpful as I cannot say anything for definite.

I can see no reason why any IR repeater system would not work. as I think the IR codes are similar to the older SKY HD boxes and other TV equipment.

I stopped using my IR repeaters many years ago when I switched to SKY Q - my SKY boxes are out of line of sight but as SKY Q main remote is bluetooth I no longer needed it (I have no need to use  a 2nd remote).

Needless to say, as I am no longer using any IR repeaters I can't recommend any current ones

Whilst  I know a few people do use a 2nd remote using IR, I don't recall seeing anyone mention they use an IR repeater

@MightyQuinn I had forgotten about that - could be a useful alternative, especiallly as it is now available for Android as well as iOS
