Sky Q

Having recently had to switch from Sky HD to Sky Q, I can't believe what an inferior product this new system is!

So many of the useful features of the older device are not available now, and don't even get me started on the remote control!😡 Such a poor bit of design!

The whole thing is a backward step in my experience. Not happy!

hi @Mike4444

We do know that many customers switching from SKY HD to SKY Q have similar feelings to yourself..

I know it is too late for yourself but we do try to give some inkling towards the differences here when we know people are thinking of switching  - too late for you I know SKY +/HD to SKY Q

We know you will possibly find the transition difficult but we do advise you watch & look at the videos and other notes in the Help section on your SKY Q box ( Main Menu - just above My SKY on Menu items) & we will try to assist if you have any queries

One feature on Q which is very useful is Voice control  - for example in recordings:

Handy controls are :
Skip nn minutes
Go To nn minutes
Back nn minutes

You can use hours, minutes & seconds or mix e.g. Go to 1 hour 15 minutes

Skip nn minutes is very handy for adverts and you get used to the length on regular used channels (Many are around the 4 minute mark)

You can also say Go To Start

As I say, voice control in general is very useful - see
https://www.sky.com/help/articles/sky-q-voice-control-commands

Edit : Sorry that unlike @Daniel0210 , I did not realise you have already seen my notes and otherwise discussed some of these points

but as I say do ask if there is anything we can help with

@Mike4444

Your thoughts have been echoed previously by customers upgrading to Q. I agree with you regarding the design of the remote but I've had Sky Q since November 2019 and tbh it didn't take us long to get used to Sky Q in general and given the option I certainly wouldn't want to revert back to Sky+HD.

I noticed you have seen the notes compiled by @nigea99 (on another thread) prior to upgrading.

Realistically given that Q has been around for nearly nine years, has been superceded in the Comcast/Sky product lineup and is approaching end of life, it's not going to change now.
