Sky Q with hybrid LNB needs rebooting to get satellite signal

Hello,

I got a Sky Q that has a weird problem.  I have a hybrid LNB as I use freeview in another two rooms.  Two of the feeds though from the LNB come through to the Sky Q.  When I first got the "No satellite signal" in the TV guide I swapped the cables around cables as I could still get ITV 1 but no BBC1.  This got me BBC1 so I thought there's a bad port on the LNB.  The next day, I get the same issue and swap around the cables and it didn't work.  Next try was to reboot the box by completely pulling the power cable for 5 secs. Rebooting resolved it and I got signal and clear, perfect viewing of a channel that moments before said there was no signal.  When I can't see a channel I check the settings and I see "locked" with 50 strength and signal quality 90.  Rebooting generally gets me the channel back.

Does anyone know what this could be?

On a brief read,  it sounds like a possibly a short in one of the cables.

(I might need to re-read & deeper thought, if I have got it wrong)

It might be worth checking the cable ends to make sure that none of the fine out sheathing strands are touching the central core wire

the 2 cables used by Q are used for the different polarities

BTW the signal status indicator on Q is not as helpful as it could be as it doesn;t show the status of the current channel but a single transponder set in an engineers menu
