Sky Q voice control remote problem. Everything works except the volume and mute which have suddenlyl

Sky Q voice control model remote volume control suddenly doesn't work but every other function is fine. I tried all the reset options and pairing but no luck so I  purchased a new remote which paired with my TV and that's exactly the same!!

@gettingwiser Have you tried rebooting your main Q box ie
putting your box into Standby then switching it off at the wall for 30 seconds
switch it back on then follow the on screen instructions

then

Try resetting your remote.
Press the buttons 7 & 9 together on the remote until it’s led flashes four times.
Then press 1 & 3 together until the led flashes twice then follow onscreen instructions to repair the remote.

if that doesn't work try

rebooting your TV 

ten re-pairing the remote

Thanks but I've done all that, in fact having paired the new remote I had to turn off my Sony TV and reboot it just so I could use the volume control on the TV remote whilst using the Sky remote for everything else!!

I don't seem to have missed a Sony software update either.

OK problem solved.

On another forum "oldfella" said to access the remote reset option from the Q settings on the TV and follow the same instructions from there.

It worked first time after entering Sony TV model info.

So instead of just starting with 1 & 3 method which didn't work on either remote the Q settings option did but only with the new one so my old one had run it's course.
