Sky contacted me saying I needed to upgrade my box as it would stop working (had for years) I agreed as foc & nothing would change except upgrade.
Yesterday this happened , engineer advised me that on my bill was multi rooms & Netflix neither of which I needed through sky!
not used multi room for years & Netflix I pay myself did not want or ask to change.
i ran sky straight away was told & explained why ringing the lady told me my next brill would be nearly double what I currently pay !!!! I asked her why. She then told me account had a bunch of stuff I did not ask for including the 2 items engineer had mentioned.
I told her that nothing had changed all that had happened is sky q was fitted & put my bills back to what it was. She then told me I had to give 31st notice to do that, I said no I don't as I didn't ask to have them. She said after speaking to her line manager that it would be removed foc (too right) & bill would revert back to its original out of contract price (still not cheap I might add)
my bill has come down but still not to what it was I'm so annoyed at you sky sort it out please

Firstly, in case you aren’t aware we are mainly fellow customers on here trying to help other customers and you’re not contacting Sky Customer Services by posting on the forum.
Why didn't you negotiate a discount whilst you were on the phone to bring the monthly costs down further?

Unless you had a really old non-HD Sky+ box there was no need to change. But now that it's done it's extremely unlikely you would be allowed to switch back.
My understanding of the cost of the switch is that it's £99 one off charge which is waived if you agree to take a Mini Box and the associated Multi Screen subscription.

Netflix would be there because the default baseline bundle is Ultimate TV (Signature + Netflix Standard with Adverts)
You were probably signed up to the VIP upgrade, which as noted above includes a Mini Box and the Multiscreen add-on required to use it.
Unfortunately the Sky description of the move from HD to Q as having 'no extra cost' is somewhat slippery: it's typically either no up front fee or no increase in monthly subscription, but not both.
