Sky Q touch remote not working, discontinued?

Also, the buttons under the tv for volume or changing channels won't work either... It just shows a circle ⭕️ on off settings and connection. Like the volume button does not exist any more

hi @Belle34 

it sounds like your TV is currently stuck on the TV's Freeview Tuner - you need to be able to select the HDMI that SKY is on

From your mention above regarding not working with the buttons on the TV it is making think that you may have a problem with the TV itself, unfortunately.

Update... have managed to get the volume button to go up and down on the tv with the TV remote but.... still not a sound!!! Do I just need to buy a new TV? Is that the issue? I don't mind? If only I had the root of the issue I could get the solution. When the sky technician tells you it's a common issue a new remote will fix it you find of trust them. Now I'm Dow this rabbit hole five days laster three new remotes another arriving tomorrow still no sound no terrestrial tv and none the wiser... it wouldn't matter so much if the TV was not such an integral part of my children's daily routine. Being Autistic they don't cope well with change.

On your LG remote, press the Settings button (a cog) and scroll down until you see "Sound Out". Then press Select and use left/right to make sure it is set to TV Speaker.

Also - what model LG TV is it exactly?

The terrestrial thing should be irrelevant but if you do have an antenna connected, that should be fixable but let's leave that aside for now - just try to do everything with the TV set to the right HDMI input for the Sky box.

Now we know your TV remote is working , as @Chodley says, you need to make sure your TV has the input set to the HDMI connection that your SKY box is plugged into. 

I am afraid I don;t know if the remote will have a label called input or something else or just an icon

This WORKED!!!! It's not syncing perfectly but I don't care at this point! I am so grateful sound at last yay!!!!🙌🏻 I do however think there is an issue with my tv as when I tried to set the control up it says, no WiFi connection? I do have everything connected but one comes out easier than others? Something I shall look into... but for now, I've got sound! Sincerely thank you!

Thank you so much for all your help and responses, the cog thing did work. I tried to set the HMD... thing but could not find how to do it? Apologies I could not reply last night but the children had gone to bed and I could not use the tv. I mean the sound it lagging a little, but at this point I don't care, I was about to drop a grand in a new TV so a little lagging I'll take. I think I might need a new TV cable as it's saying not connected to WiFi when I try to set up. So, a huge thank you, without yourself and everyone else's help taking the time to respond to my remote control question I definitely would not be hearing TV now and for that I am very grateful and I know my children will be so excited to hear their favourite channel when they get off the school bus today and for that... I can't thank you all enough 😄

Little update... 1. Got my LG TV remote connected to WiFi. Daughter showed me over txt 😂 2. New remote arrived. Was not expecting a brick... but ok. Went through the process. Was slightly different after third input of a code, volume appeared and went up! So the Sky lady was true to her promise it would work, and does. Remote looks like I have gone back 10 years but I'll take ugly over no sound any day! Thank you all again. Much appreciated the time and effort everyone has taken to help me to resolve this issue, big thanks, a great community 👍🏻
