Sky Q to a garden room - have a wired wifi, with Virgin, sky wifi in main house

I have Virgin Wifi for my main internet connection, and the a sky wifi box wired to that in the house - which works the TVs in the house fine.

We have a garden room which I have had a wifi extender wired to the main Virgin router (for internet again), how can I also get sky into the garden room for a mini box on the TV in there?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Hi @Stuart_Mac

Certainly the mini will not work on 3rd party WiFi or 3rd party WiFi extenders.

If all your other Q boxes are on Ethernet to your router then you could use the Ethernet from your router in the Garden room.  You would need a simple unmanaged Ethernet switch there so you could also connect your WiFi Extender.

Re: Sky Q to a garden room - have a wired wifi, with Virgin, sky wifi in main house

Thanks so much for coming back to me @oldfella appreciate the help - the setup atm is Virgin Wifi as my main internet connection in the house, managed switch with the Sky Wifi box on Cat6 to that, then main Sky Q & 2 Sky miniboxes all over (SkyWifi) in the house, but all internet devices use the Virgin Wifi.

Then to the Garden room there is a Cable from the Managed switch to a POE Access point for the Virgin Internet connection, what I'd now like to do is put a sky minibox in the garden room, but the Sky Wifi doesn't reach - os there a away to extend the Sky wifi using the switch and the cable from the house, without losing the Virgin Wifi?

Sorry a convoluted set-up I realise but Virgin was the only (Gigabit) Wifi option where we are.

Thank you again, really appreciate the advice.

Looks like the only way you could do this is to run the Ethernet directly from your main Q box to the mini @Stuart_Mac

However you will not have Virgin WiFi in the garden room unless you run another Ethernet cable.
