Hi
I have moved the minis to different rooms upstairs and they are not getting a connection to the main Q box, I have virgin media and my previous set up was an ethernet cable from the main Q box to the virgin media hub and an ethernet cable running from the hub to a switch upstairs that had ethernet cables from the switch to the 2x minis and everything worked fine, i've had some decorating done and dont want the ethernet cable running upstairs but the minis are not connecting over the sky Q mesh.
I've read the suggestions on other posts and wasnt getting any luck, I phoned sky and the operator was telling me to reset the minis and press the wps on the main Q box but this didnt work, he then asked if the wifi signal was good upstairs and I told him it was, he then told me to press the wps on the virgin media box/virgin media wifi extender and try connect through that, I told him that wouldnt work as sky Q works of its own mesh system (from what ive read on here) but he didnt understand that, so I dont what he said but that didnt work either.
He said I would need to get a sky engineer out to install a skyQ booster, I asked if he could just send one out and i'll install it myself but he said they can only be installed by one of their engineers, is there anything else I can try before I get an engineer out or is there a way I can just get one to install myself?
