Sky Q running really slowly. Recording playback stops and starts. Completed power off/on and reset.

Have sky modem, broadband, sky Q, tv package. When playback of recordings, picture and sound interrupted making viewing frustrating. Fast forwarding X30,  X12, X6 inoperative and recording only creeps forward. Multi screen box displays technical fault " cannot connect to sky Q". reset modem, sky Q box, multi screen box. Hard reset of Sky Q box. Initially better but symptoms above of slow running returns in 12 hours. System becoming unwatchable.

@Wreaver You could try resetting the settings in the Q boxes hidden menu.
To enter the hidden menu press the home button and scroll down to settings but do not select settings.
With settings highlighted press 0 0 1 then select
Only Carry out the first Reset being Reset Settings as the others will wipe all recordings.
After the reset you will have to re-pair your remote assuming you are using a bluetooth remote by pressing 1 and 3 together on the remote

Hi thanks for your reply. Have completed a reset in the engineer settings to no avail. As reported initially an improvement then back to slow running and inoperative mini box within 12 hours.

 

Do I need a new sky Q box. Is the hard drive faulty?

the troubleshooter on sky.com ends with a "box replacement" request if all else fails
