Hi @Elizabeth111

Provided it is correctly paired it should turn off the Television.

Assume you are aware that it needs a long press on the remote Standby button to turn the Television On or Off.

The modern Sony Televisions can be slightly problematic as if you hold the button too long the Television will reboot instead of turn off.

Here I find it needs about a three second press to turn off my Sony.  Any longer than this and it reboots.

Assume you are also aware that with the latest Q software when you turn off the Television it will also then turn off the Q box

Hi @Elizabeth111   If you have one of the blue voice button remotes, the led flashes to tell you that the TV signal has been sent.

That's such a helpful tip. It's really been bugging me up to now that my Sony Bravia was so difficult to turn off!

Our sky remote used to work fine to switch off our Sony Bravia TV and sky Q box by holding for a count of 4. Now though, the TV switches off, but then comes back on again. I've checked that it's paired and it works OK for changing channels and volume. I've also tried just counting to 3 or 2 or 1, but no luck. The sky Q box goes off after a count of 1. Have resorted to switching off at the plug!
