Sky Q remote volume not working on sky glass

I have Sky Q running through a Sky Glass TV. I had a problem today where the Sky Q remote wouldn't turn the Sky Q box on. I did a reset on the Sky Q remote using the instructions on the link below and followed the instructions under 'Still seeing the Sky Glass menu?'

I've got the remote working just right now (no longer seeing the Sky Glass home screen which was annoying), but the volume on the Sky Q remote doesn't work.

Does anyone know what I need to do to restore the volume control on the Sky Q remote? I can't seem to find any answers to the issue online.

Hi @JonHC 

Try completly resetting your Bluetooth remote.
Press and hold 7 & 9 together on the remote until it’s led flashes four times.
Then make sure that you are pointing your remote at the Q box and press 1 & 3 together until the remote led flashes and follow onscreen instructions to re- pair.

Wasn't sure that was going to work as it's the same instructions I followed on the Sky guide. However, this time, I got the option on screen to choose the TV I was pairing with and now the volume works.

To get your sky q remote to control your sky glass tv please follow this link Sky glass remote | Sky Community. I got this to work yesterday after months of trying. I would advise that you follow the instructions to the letter and then when you get to point 11 to finish the pairing you may need a few attempts as the sky q remote will activate different things on the sky q box and will say pairing unsuccessful. Keep trying and when it asks if volume can be controlled and you can answer yes you can then put the make of tv as sky. Start typing glass when it asks for the model but select find it for me and it should work. Mine now functions like any other sky remote, long press to turn the tv on, short press for the q box and controls volume and show the sky q home screen.
