They can't boost it. It's not their satellite for a start. And it would only help people who are getting picture breakup or blank channels, most of whom resolve that by re-aligning their dish.

I'm currently using some generic hdmi cables i purchased from an electrical store for less than 15 each years ago, i compared them and others i had to several branded names i purchased from amazon running my tests. I realised i got lucky with these cheapo cables as they compared equally with cables costing multiple times what they did & and the sky cables provided were average to me. They can certainly be improved and by quite a lot too. My conclusion is that u will have to test out quite a few different cables and u will know when u get one u like as u can compare like to like in front of your eyes and ears. I only used amazon as their return policy suited what i was doing at the time. This is quite a few years ago too so not sure if things have changed now. You may get lucky with cables from a local store which are cheap and look well made, its trial and error type of thing im afraid.

The main issue with sky picture quality is compression artefacts, most visible on large screens, and that is down to them minimising money spent on satellite bandwidth.

Ah, yes, the people who claim insulation is directionally biased in order to retail HDMI cable at £2000 a metre...

@Paul401 I really don't think there is any need for that the first rule of the forums is "Be nice to each other" which that is not

Analogue signals do behave rather differently...

I don't know who this was directed at? I said Sky's compression is a problem for their image quality. I also said Sky Q was not worse image quality than SkyHD. I didn't say it was great. UHD HDR stuff on Sky is ok but 4k blurays are far better.

As per my earlier comments. Analog and speaker cables are worth investing in. To a point.

I particularly enjoy the 'directional' and 'mechanically tuned' ethernet cable which they also offer, at over £3000 a metre.
The descriptions of things like the AudioQuest range do have a strange kind of poetry, and there are some superb 'reviews' on Amazon of all the other wonderful powers they have, including enhancing virility and generating world peace.

Well visiting there was an eye-opener.
I have tried writing a few of my thoughts but decided none would probably be within the Community rules - I will just say I find it quite unbelievable

You have to be sensible you don't have to buy a top of the range cable for a £1300 pound television you might want to if you were getting one for £30000

That's true
