Yes I am aware that mini boxes are only 1080i and the screen is 49inches as opposed to the LG which is a 55 incher, also the Sony is a full array led whilst the LG is OLED. When I first got the LG before the screen replacement it blew away the Sony in UHD. I agree with your comment about screen size, I was thinking that too.

Their alternative internet (not satellite) based service. Very different from Q.

Indeed. £69 for 1.5m of 48Gb certified cable. While that's not the MOST criminal overpricing in the cable industry, and they do look nice, you'll get the same picture out of one of these at £11.95

Sky Stream? No it's a proprietary hardware offering, they don't provide it as software / app only (yet)

I will have to strongly disagree with you on cables, they do make a difference and ive tested it out many times, im not saying the most expensive is best by the way but out of my collection of cables some are clearly better than others for quality and what i see and hear in my setup. I always chuckle a bit when people make your type of smart statement about paying too much etc, u obviously have not tested things correctly i would say.

Analog cables, speaker cables, you're absolutely right. Digital cables, no. Simply not technically possible. You get any significant deterioration in the flow of data and you will know about it. For hdcp protected video the encryption/decryption will fail for a start.

What cables do you use. I am keen to find out what you have found better. If you speak to the guys at the futureshop they tell me that they can make a big difference. They sell all types of cables from hi-fi to tv you name it, they are probably the biggest suppliers in this country

Ok very interesting

OP i nearly drove myself mad trying to max out my sky settings and give me that lovely sharp picture and nice clear sound which i assumed i would get with sky, it doesnt exist as far as i can see & ive seen other sky users houses as well, dont even get me started on the sky response to questions like that, lets just say total waste of time, the signal is just not good enough to do that imo & they wont boost it either no matter what u might say, i just accepted this in the end & got as much of a discount as possible on package

Was this to me? If so, I have used and still use various HDMI and optical cables. I have found nothing better
I don't use any analog cables any more - last one was a £180 RGBHV analog video cable for a video processor to commercial plasma which I stopped using in about 2012, I still have it somewhere, and for speakers I just use pretty standard 79strand if I recall correctly. It's ok but nothing special. My sub is connected with a decent shielded coax cable but I can't remember where I got it.
Do you honestly expect an unbiased opinion from a company who stay in business by selling the cables?
