Sky Q parental control and 2160P

Getting driven crazy 2 issues.

Q box resets to 1080 randomly at switch, TV and Box are compatible.

Constantly getting PIN Protection required even though everything set to OFF

Any advice ?

hi @Ronj

Sorry can't help with the random reset back to 1080 - although  perhaps suggest that you might try a different HDMI cable

Regarding the PIN protection:

When SKY Atlantic & other channels show certain material before the relevant 'watershed' it will always be present & you cannot turn it off

Although you have said they are all off,  do double  check that all the relevant options in Parental Controls are appropriately set but as I say you may need it for some

Our advice is to set the PIN to something like 1111 to help enter it when needed

'constant' PIN challenges would be an error, but as @nigea99 indicates, some are inevitable, particularly on Sky Atlantic, Documentaries and Comedy plus several of the Sky Cinema channels.

Right now both Atlantic and Documentaries are carrying content behind a PIN which wouldn't otherwise be legal to transmit prior to 21:00, as are Cinema Action, Thriller, Sci-fi/Horrorand Premiere +1

I had a TV that wouldn't keep 2160P and would occasionally drop down.  Changed my TV and the problem went away.

It will be some form of issue between the TV and Sky's firmware - which may never be resolved.

What model TV is it?

I am just another Sky customer and my views are my own even if you don't like the answers

I've also set ALL parental controls to off. It is therefore IMMENSELY annoying to still get asked for a pin on the Sky Sci-fi chanel... IMMENSELY annoying!

None the less, something you'll have to live with.  Mandatory Daytime Protection is, as the name implies, non-negotiable.
