Sky Q minis constantly need reactivation despite being hard wired.
I have two mini boxes and main sky Q box all connected to ethernet. Despute this when i switch on the TV the minis are connected to they say they are not connected to the main box and i habe to reactivate 2-3 times and dometimes piwer cycle to fet them to fonnrct. The weird thing us the show an active internet connection via ethernet.
i was having this issue on wifi and a sky engineer attended and set up wired and turned off wifi on all boxes.
Broadband is from Sky. WiFi turned off on the router as i use a TP Link mesh.
so weird that they lose connection when wired via ethernet??? Sky engineer showed me them all commuicating well after we wired them so should be no issue.
any ideas?

Hi @CaptainDram
When all boxes are connected by Ethernet you can then switch off all Q box WiFi.
Best to do it in the following procedure
Start with main Q box and first carry out a Network reset with the Ethernet connected.
Network Reset found in Q box Home - Settings - Setup - Network.
Highlight Status and then select Reset on the right hand side. Select connect wired to non Sky Router (or Sky router if on Sky Broadband). Do not carry out any WPS and just wait for the box to connect. It may take a couple of minutes. If it does not connect there is an issue with the Ethernet connection.
As soon as it connects immediately go into the Q box hidden menu and turn off WiFi.
To enter hidden menu press Home and navigate down to Settings but do not select Settings.
With Settings highlighted press 0 0 1 Select.
Go to Network to turn off both bands of WiFi. Confirm before exit.
Repeat the network reset on any minis in the Mini Home menu with the Ethernet connected. Again do not do any WPS and just wait for it to connect.
Once it is connected go into the mini hidden menu (same procedure as above) and turn off both bands of WiFi. Confirm before exit.

This was already done by the sky engineer. I have then had the issue 4 times where the minis have lost connection despite WiFi being off and minis showing they have internet connection but no connection to the main box

Re: Sky Q minis constantly need reactivation despite being hard wired.
I have the exact same issue. Worked for several weeks without needing to reset/reconnect, so thought by hardwiring we had finally solved the problem after fitting a new modem and router. But now it seems the mini boxes need to go through the reconnecting rigmarole every time now! Did you get this resolved?

Re: Sky Q minis constantly need reactivation despite being hard wired.
Same, it started yesterday, didn't think much of it but same tonight.
My Sky Q is fine but my mini which is in the same room as the router does not connect.
Take a full reconnect to fix. All other wifi devices are fine.
If this continues Sky won't be getting my 170 off a month any longer.

Re: Sky Q minis constantly need reactivation despite being hard wired.
I've been using my Sky Mini for well over a year and never had to reconnect (or reactivate). Starting last week I have had to reactivate it every day to use it.
I can't use a hard connection, and have tried all the usual stuff.
Have Sky made any other suggestions or comments?

Re: Sky Q minis constantly need reactivation despite being hard wired.
We recently (fianlly) were able to upgrade from FTTC to FTTP. That meant removing our modem and now connecting our Orbi mesh router direct. Having done that, and hard wiring the minis using a powerline, the connection has remained rock solid with no need to reconnect since.
