Sky Q mini box is not responding to the remote control.

I have tried new batteries in the control and tried the controller from my main box and it will not work.

@Paula+Wilk Have you tried rebooting your main Q box ie
putting your box into Standby then switching it off at the wall for 30 seconds
switch it back on then follow the on screen instructions

then 

rebooting your mini box see if that helps

if not you could Try resetting your remote.
Press the buttons 7 & 9 together on the remote until it’s led flashes four times.
Then press 1 & 3 together until the led flashes twice then follow onscreen instructions to repair the remote.

Hi @Paula+Wilk 

Have you tried pressing the Standby button (Amber led) on the front of the Q box.
If this turns the Q box on
Try completly resetting your Bluetooth remote.
Press and hold 7 & 9 together on the remote until it’s led flashes four times.
Then make sure that you are pointing your remote at the Q box and press 1 & 3 together until the led flashes and follow onscreen instructions to re- pair.

Do you me press 7 and 9 on main Q box. I'm presuming so if mini box isnt responding.

Do I do this with mini box remote and main Q box?

I have tried new batteries and the control from my main box.  Still won't respond.  I have also used the mini remote control on my main box downstairs and it works 
The volume control on the remote control still works.  So there is nothing wrong with the remote. 

I believe the sky Q mini has failed

My SkyQ mini remote wasn't responding but contolled the TV.
The Sky Q mini  was brand new , only installed yesterday. 
I found one of the batteries had a dirty - tenminal.
I cleaned the bottom of the battery.
I then found when I pressed 7 and 8 together the Led flashed.
I then pointed it at the box and pressed 1 and 3 together. 
It flashed again and the remote worked fine.
