Sky Q losing connection or very slow connection.

In the last week my skyvq box has become hopeless for any streamed content.

Even the menus and mini videos on the home page are slow to appear. 

 

I have broadband through a 3rd party and will not be changing to sky as this poor service does not make me feel confident in having sky in control of my internet connection when I rely on this for work. 

 

To date I have tried. 

1 restarting router. Sky q and the mini box

2 connecting fully by ethernet turning off connection by wifi. 

 

The second option worked for about 5 hours and now the situation is the same. 

 

When watching YouTube it's so bad that it downgrades the resolution to 360p on auto mode. 

My tv will run the same content at 1440p via ethernet with no buffering. 

 

What is going on ? 

Do I need to update.
