Sky Q is no longer purchasable online

It would appear that Sky have finally killed the option for new customers to order Sky Q online

It's been removed from the Sky website (again) and potential customers are now greeted with this:

Better get used to streaming everybody!

Re: Sky Q no longer being sold

Hi Everyone

Thanks for your questions on Sky Q and the online sales journey. I can confirm Sky Q is no longer available to buy online, however I can reassure you that Sky Q is still going strong with no changes to how existing customers can manage their package online or through the My Sky App.

Customers can still call us if they'd like to order Sky Q, or visit one of our retail stores. Alternatively, they can opt for one of our popular streaming products, Sky Glass and Sky Stream, which are chosen by 9 in 10 of our new customers.

I'm going to mark this post as the current answer, so that everyone has the most up-to-date information.

Thanks
Kev

@BenJoBanjo

There has been no announcement of it being totally unavailable. Your image states 'online'.

I'd still advise customers wishing to sign up to Sky Q to call to order it until such time as there's something official out there.

Re: Sky Q no longer being sold

@Daniel0210

Well it was always going to be inevitable wasn't it? The website states that if you 'want to chat about Sky Q' you can call them or visit a store but it doesn't say the word 'order' so it's clearly a softly softly approach to phasing the product out.

We've always known it was coming and they have to start some time so this must be it.

They are probably running out of Q boxes...  (Leaving enough to cover breakdowns as I suspect they are not building any new ones)

I am just another Sky customer and my views are my own even if you don't like the answers

@BenJoBanjo

Not necessarily. No point in scaremongering.

It's not scaremongering, it's just pointing out the fact that Sky have stopped selling Sky Q online.

We all know that the satellite service is being wound down so there's no point in them making it easy for people to sign up to service which will be shutting down in a few years. Customers and potential customers need to get used to that fact.

Existing Sky Q customers will continue to get the service they currently have and Sky will continue to support until there comes a time that they decide not to. That probably won't be for another few years, but it's coming.

I agree with your last post but your opening sentence of the thread read…

which wasn't actually correct, and it was this I was correcting you on.

The thread title is misleading I'm afraid. It is available to you @FIL77 . There might be delays at this time of year though due to the weather, less daylight for engineers to work safely and with staff taking holidays during the festive period.

Re: Sky Q no longer being sold

So Will "SKY" Remove "SKY-Q"-"TV" For EXISTING "Customers" Like Myself? If So, (Please) Ensure That "SKY-Q"-"TV" STILL Remains ACTIVE As "SKY-Q"-"TV" Is The ONLY Form Of "TV" That I Can Use Easily? (Please) DON'T Remove "SKY-Q"-"TV" For EXISTING And Would-Be "Customers" As Some "Customers" (Who Are "Disabled" And "Elderly") Can ONLY Use "SKY-Q"-"TV" More Easily? (PLEASE) Re-Assure Me That "SKY-Q"-"TV"  Will Still Remain Active For EXISTING "Customers" Like Myself And New-Would-Be "Customers" And DO Respond To This Message (Whoever Is From The "SKY-Q"-"TV"-"TEAM" And Other "Commenters" Who Can Let Me Know Some Helpful Answers) - (Please)?
