Which ISP are you with?

There could well be a wide TalkTalk issue at the same time as an unrelated issue affecting you, or indeed a DNS propagation problem which has affected more than one ISP.

fwiw downloads are totally fine for me, on a local fibre ISP.

the overlap of these "advanced security settings" and the DNS thing is pretty interesting.

Re: Sky Q download

We are with Utility Warehouse

I'm not sure if they go through BT Open Reach but they deal with the connectivity to the house

Try changing your DNS.

Re: Sky Q download

Does anyone know if this issue is also effecting mini box connections - I disconnected mine while trying to fix the talk talk issue and now can't get it working again !

Re: I can’t download programmes on U&alibi

Hi, I'm having the exact same issue. It's been working absolutely fine until yesterday (Tue 23rd Sept 2025) I've downloaded/watched Episode 1 of Season 2 of The Coroner but Episode 2 Season 2 just fails to start downloading. Other programs won't download either. I've reset WiFi, rebooted the box, checked there's plenty of disc space. I'm at a complete loss. How did you solve your issue please.

Re: On demand stopped working

🥳 have followed the advice listed as a solution (changed the dns address within my TalkTalk routers settings to 1.0.0.1) & my SkyQ now downloads again.
Can anyone explain the issue further please?
I'm glad it works but no clue as to what I've actually just done to achieve the result. 😵💫

Problems with downloading

I am suddenly having issues with downloading yesterday and today.  The box had technical issues yesterday morning and failed to record Classic Coronation Street.  I tried downloading from "available now" which failed.  Had to go into ItvX app to watch.  The same happened today with Brookside.  For some reason I could neither download or get into the STV app from the box.  I can get into any other app from my Sky box???  I also cannot download from Sky Store. I don't know if there has been an update that has failed?  Anyone else had this issue?

Re: Sky Q downloads disabled?

The information about it relating to DNS address helped me fix my problem. My current address was set to the that of my router so firstly I tried 79.79.79.79 but that did not work. Then I went to set it to 1.0.0.1 but managed to confuse myself and entered 1.1.1.1  which actually worked. Changed it to 1.0.0.1 and that worked too. BTW just to confuse things even more the original fault was with Catch Up TV not downloaing a programme whereas the BBC Iplayer worked perfectly so my Q box internet connection was working well.

Have you tried reading the rest of this thread? I don't know if your post was merged in here from somewhere else?

79.79.79.79 is specifically the one at TalkTalk that isn't working.

Catchup TV is a Sky service and iplayer isn't, so that all makes sense.

Maybe. You should be able to try changing the DNS on that too, as long as it's at least picked up an address for itself.

@Deet

You had posted on an old thread. I've moved your post and the reply it received to this current thread on the issue.
