Sky Q down this morning. Sky Q box didnt power down even when mains disconnected? Red light stayed

Turned on one of my mini boxes. Wouldn't connect. Tried to power offsky q main box. Red light stayed on with no mains connected? Tried using the remote on main box and the unit started to reboot with a blue Q flashing. Finally all came up working. What is all this about? I know there was a problem over and prior weekendxas we lost parts of recordings.

Sounds like your main Sky Q box got stuck in standby.

In that state of the main Sky Q box, the mini will fail to connect to the main Sky Q box.

It can happen occasionally.

If that happens again, follow the recovery procedure;

1. Switch the Sky Q box off at the mains.
2. Hold down the standby button on the front of the box, then switch it back on at the mains.
3. Keep the standby button held down until you see alternating red and amber lights on the front of the box. This will start a software update.
