Thanks both will give both suggestions a try, there seem to be a lot of permutations of the same complaint on the forums 🤦♂️

So with eco mode off but still on Ethernet box wouldn't turn on this morning, I've reset the box and will try just on WiFi for a while and see what happens.

I cannot think of any reason why this might work, but I have heard it elseware so I too have just stuck a 10/100 hub between by gigabit switch and the SkyQ box - let's see.

The only reason I can think of is the chip overheating when trying to spam the network at the higher rate. But it's rampant speculation on my part. Very interested to hear how you get on.

So after most of a day it is no longer blowing and still comes out of standby so definitely in my mind some bug related to being connected via Ethernet.

Its strange as the amount of bandwidth should not change the number of "hits" it needs to do as they would be such a small amoung of bandwitdth. Only thing I could consider is that the system is constantly downloading "stuff" and uses the maximum available, and as I have, llike you guys, 1g ethernet, I also have over 900 Mbps it's trying to use all of the avaialble bandwidth and blowing it's mind, but there is really nothing it should be downloading.
Very strange, I will give it a few days and let you know if I have "fixed" it.

It spams out bonkers volumes of broadcast packets.

I get that but they are so small I still don't know how more bandwidth would matter. We will try it and see if it works.

I can confirm it makes not a jot of difference my sky box was whining this morning and locked until I killed the power again!
do we have any sky engineers on here? Mine is a replacement box of only a few weeks??

Gah. So much for that.
no, Sky "engineers" don't come on here
can escalate your post (or you can call them) but sadly think another box replacement is the likely attempt at a solution

Switching to WiFi for me has stopped the box from getting stuck in standby, The WiFi in my house is shocking sometimes it's rather annoying, I've not been able to get hold of anyone to speak to either.

My wifi was amazing, but just moved to EE and it's crap - been trying to get it ripped out but they are beyond incompetent
