Sky Q box won't respond to remote - here's what I've tried

I have:

 

- switched remote batteries to ones I know to be working 

- disconnected the power to the box for 2 hours (the box starts fine but when the screen goes black and I have to press home, I can't go further as button presses aren't registering on the box)

- held 7 & 9 on the remote (nothing happened)

- held 1 & 3 on the remote

- held the power button on the remote

 

What can I do?

Pressing & holding 7 & 9 should reset the remote & caue the red led above the SKY Logo button

 

If that doesn't happen you may need to get a new remote

 

You should also be able to use a virtual remote on SKY Go (this was on iOS only but now also available on android)

Thanks for your reply. Will Sky provide a new remote for free? The remote in the app doesn't give the option for the main Q box, even when it's temporarily providing signal to the TV after you plug it back in.
