Sky Q box won't connect to router

My skyQ box will not reconnect to broadband router, have tried several times, including performing a hard reboot of both skyQ box and broadband router.

Hi @Jhat 

First reset your broadband router.
If on Sky broadband hold the Reset on the back of the router until the power light flashes green (about 10 seconds). Don't unplug or switch off your router while it resets. The power light will go green when it's done.
If on 3rd party broadband and your router does not have a reset button, reboot it by disconnecting the power lead for 30 secs and then reconnecting.
Wait until the router is completely back and running and then try a Network Reset found in Q box Home - Settings - Setup - Network.
Highlight Status and then select Reset on the right hand side. Follow instructions to connect by WiFi to your router. Even if reset is not listed there is still an option to connect by WiFi to Sky or 3rd party router
If you are on Sky Broadband you will be asked to press the WPS button on the Sky router. (Not on the Q box as the Network reset will start the main Q box WPS automatically). Make sure you press the WPS button on the Sky router and not the reset button.
if you are on 3rd party (non Sky ) broadband then you need to enter the SSID and password for the router 2.4 Ghz WiFi band.

Sky provides my broadband. Internet is working for other devices just not sky q box. When holding wps button in, takes ages for it to stop flashing then it just comes up with 'unsuccessful connection. please try again, or u may need to connect a sky booster. We already have a booster connected.

What booster do you have and where is it located in relation to the Q box and the Q Router?

I have the black SR203 model. Its in the hall , sky q in living room, same place that its been since I had sky q 5-6 years ago and never had this issue, wondering if it could be the sky q box playing up??

that's not the booster thats the router!

Yes i know it the router. The booster is upstairs where the sky engineer  told us to put it, with sky mini box in back room downstairs. All been working absolutely fine until yesterday!

OK @Jhat 

Without knowing the full layout of the router main Box  and mini it's difficult to give any advice on connection.

When you get the message that you may need a booster this means that you need to connect to a booster that is located between your router and the Q box

Totally understand, we have one of the white se210 boosters. Its realy daft as its been working perfectly for a good couple of years then suddenly won't work! I need to phone sky about renewing contract tomorrow anyway so will mention this also.
