Sky Q box will not turn on and does not full shut down (yellow light)
Hello
In the last week our Sky Q TV box has started to run off randomly (blank screen) and sometimes it will not start.
Power cycling and forced reset of the box has brought it back to life so far, but this feels like a problem getting worse.
When in 'standby' the box continues to whirr (i.e. forever) but not sure if this is the hard drive or the fan. The light in the button shows yellow in this state, turns green once you can get the box started.
I tried calling Sky but ended up getting a text and guidance saying enquire with the community! Not sure how to talk to a techie or get a replacement box.
Suggestions welcome.

Try a Reset Settings in the Q box hidden menu.
To enter hidden menu press Home and navigate down to Settings but do not select Settings.
With Settings highlighted press 0 0 1 Select.
Only Carry out the first Reset (Reset Settings) as the other two will wipe all recordings.
After the Reset you will have to re pair your Bluetooth remote If you use one.
If you cannot switch the Q box on with the remote after the Reset press the Standby button (Amber led) on the front of the box.
To re pair the remote press 1 & 3 together on the remote and follow onscreen instructions to re pair.
Make sure that you are pointing the remote at the Q box when you press 1 & 3 together.
Resetting the settings will also reset:
Audio visual settings, such as picture resolution and HDMI control
Settings changed within the hidden engineer menu, include LNB type. If on a communal dish you need to reset the LNB to SCR in the hidden menu. After changing the LNB type you need to reboot the Q box.

Thanks Oldfella. We have had grandchildren stay at the weekend so have not wanted to try anything with Sky Q whilst it is working!
The box seems to have been working normally for the last 48 hours and overnight the noise from the box has reduced to a gentle hum, which from the blogs seems to be normal.
Perhaps the power reset cleared some issue. We'll see what happens during the coming week and keep the 0-0-1 reset in reserve to try if needed.
