Sky Q box taking an increasingly long time to display show on TV
My main Sky Q box is increasingly taking an inordinate amount of time to display on my TV. I was an early adopter and have had the box since Q was released. Do not have the same problem with the two mini boxes, just the main box. Sometimes it just switches the TV on but does not change the source to the Sky Q box. Cannot find any help on troubleshooting with 'My Sky' so seeking advice.

Hi @HimTerrier
Try a Reset Settings in the main Q box hidden menu.
To enter hidden menu press Home and navigate down to Settings but do not select Settings.
With Settings highlighted press 0 0 1 Select.
Only Carry out the first Reset (Reset Settings) as the other two will wipe all recordings.
After the Reset you will have to re pair your Bluetooth remote If you use one.
If you cannot switch the Q box on with the remote after the Reset press the Standby button (Amber led) on the front of the box.
To re pair the remote press 1 & 3 together on the remote and follow onscreen instructions to re pair.
Make sure that you are pointing the remote at the Q box when you press 1 & 3 together.
Resetting the settings will also reset:
Audio visual settings, such as picture resolution and HDMI control
Settings changed within the hidden engineer menu, include LNB type. If on a communal dish you need to reset the LNB to SCR in the hidden menu. After changing the LNB type you need to reboot the Q box.

Re: Sky Q box taking an increasingly long time to display show on TV
Thanks for coming back to me and I was just going to try your points but I now cannot switch the box on. It just has a red light. When I reboot it the screen says HELLO then tells me it will go blank for a while which it does but then stays blank. I am Going to unplug it for a while and see if that makes a difference . I will se what happens.

Re: Sky Q box taking an increasingly long time to display show on TV
Tried the sky Help Line and the Box sprang to life. However, after experimention I find I am having these issues only when I switch on after a long period off. I need to trial this a bit more but I then have to restart the box, switching off then on, to get it to work.
