Sky Q box stuck in standby daily
I am having to unplug my main sky box daily as it gets stuck on standby.
the red light in the sky symbol is on and the power light is amber.
nothing can be done to change this without turning the power off.
I reported this issue with Sky over the weekend and the engineer said I should report this once it happens again.

What times(s) of the day is this happening? Before 0545 for example would suggest the standby mode may need changing

Not a clue tbh, we put the box into standby mode before we go to bed but by the time we wake up the box is unresponsive and needs to be unplugged/ fully switched off.

Hi @Bradleyrory Then I suppose the question is, what time do you wake up? The box may still be in Energy Saving mode controlled by the Standby settings. Please note you are not reporting it to an engineer here.

Who is your ISP?
Do you find the fan stuck on when the box requires a power cycle in the morning?
There has been a problem with EE hubs recently that has been reported in other threads.

I feel your pain. I have a similar experience. My sky Q box just freezes and I have to unplugg etc. I thought it might be over heating due to the hot days or wifi down but it works fine for a while after unplugging etc. Then I have to do it again. often turn off half way through a programme. Mine usually happens after 10pm.

Our Sky Q box started going into standby mode last night 5 times and then again tonight twice. Thought it was a power cut initially but realised no other electrics in room were affected.
Yesterday had to reconnect to internet. Today no need but still going into standby mode.

These sound like different problems
the OP did not have their box randomly going into standby or freezing while using it.
The last post sounds more like the random lockup problems that happened last Thursday
