Re: Sky Q box regulary loses internet connection.

I think I might be in amongst this somewhere too.

Recently recontracted both TV and BB on Sky Q.

Only device changed was from old sky router to Sky Max Hub.

I now get regular disconnects on main sky Q box, connected on wifi, and this wasnt previously the case.

Can anyone say for sure they have the same issue? Perhaps an explanation and solution?

Conveniently the Q box doesnt show in connected devices list, yet a mini box does...

Re: Sky Q box regulary loses internet connection.

Tunring off the 5GHz connection and assiging the skybox an ip address from my router  has worked for me,

Re: Sky Q box regulary loses internet connection.

So, had a Sky Engineer visit today, has replaced the main sky q box, and added a booster. The booster is something to do with a high surge to our mini box, but it is positioned right next to the router.

The error is also still not resolved, and as a result I have rebooked for when I can host the visit myself.

Turning off the 5gHz connection would not be convenient for me as my daily wireless back-ups from 4 different Mac computers to my NAS bank all take place over the 5gHz band.

Re: Sky Q box regulary loses internet connection.

I am going to give up with wifi on the Sky Q box and install a spare Deco Mesh hub I have, next to my TV and audio system and connect my Philips TV, Sky Box and Krell Vanguard integrated amplifier all via Ethernet cables. I had intended to put the spare Deco mesh hub in the room where our 3 printers (Office/Scanner ET2750, XP15000 A3+ Photo and Dymo label) are located but as I realised one of the printers (the Dymo label printer) is USB connection only not Ethernet/Wireless like the other two the Deco hub which stupidly has no USB socket would not work, so I have ordered a WAVLINK box which receives Wifi and has one USB printer output and one Ethernet printer output.
