Does the Q box come on if you ohysically press the power button? Might just need to resync the remote

Re: Sky Q box regulary loses internet connection.
I'm plugged into my router from sky q box and it drops out every 5 seconds then comes back on continuously. All devices are the same. Sky broadband are saying my speeds are below standard but is working but also they said my devices keep dropping off the system them come back online! No sign of a engineer and can't watch and apps.

Is wifi disabled?
and what speed connection does your router say it has to the internet?

It's not disabled no. It's been fine for years. Nothing has changed. We get 34 mbps

Re: Sky Q box regulary loses internet connection.
My Sky Q box recently started losing internet connection to my router numerous times a day. I called Sky who asked me to change the standby mode from eco to active, since then I have had no issues for the last few days.
Go to settings/setup/preferences/standyby mode then select active.

It needs to be disabled on the Q in order to use ethernet. It has a weird habit of trying to use wifi again otherwise. Unlike every other device in history which default to the wired connection if available.

Re: Sky Q box regulary loses internet connection.
Hi everyone. I have recently changed to Toob fiberoptic & was having this issue countless times a day.
The fix for me was this...
I have now plugged in a WiFi booster, that clones the main wifi router, next to the sky q box & plugged in from the booster to the sky Q box. (Most generic boosters do this)
I have changed the network settings to wired connection & it's Bern perfect for days now.
Seems sky drops most routers & really doesn't like fibre anyway, as signals pulse too much. This fix gives a permanent signal, without the box timing out.
Hope it helps

Re: Sky Q box regulary loses internet connection.
Tried all the suggestions here and none worked.
BT Full fibre (950Mb/s)
Powerlines all round the house running at about 300Mb/s
SkyQ box is latest version (32D)
Sky Broadband Booster roughly central to house
2 Sky mini boxes upstairs
At various times the Sky Q box simply loses connection and clains it cant see the Wifi/Broadband/Internet - even when we can use an iPad and access Netflix/Apple TV or whatever direct with no stuttering or disconnects.
And once the Sky Q box goes, so does the extender and all the mini boxes despite WiFi being full strength throughout the house.
The issue is 100% with the sky boxes and the internal software. However as SkyQ is no longer available this will never get fixed and Sky will push Sky Stream or Sky Glass to everyone. Which is ironic as it uses your broadband for everything.........

Re: Sky Q box regulary loses internet connection.
Sky need to be made accountable for all these issues with Sky Q and it's connection issues. Having issues for nearly 3 months. Awaiting a reply from an official complaint, if not sorted within 8 weeks will look at taking to arbitration service. Stop being fobbed off people. Make an official complaint, allow them to reply, if not satisfied, take to arbitration service. Sky help on Twitter completely useless.......

You'd expect them to all go if the box which is controlling the mesh disconnects.
if you have 300Mb powerlines why are you using wifi and not ethernet? The minis won't use wifi on a powerline unless you are on Sky broadband, they have to talk direct to the Q. And the Q's wifi is not great. (Or the booster. I assume you mean a Q booster, not a sky BB booster as the latter only works with sky routers)

Re: Sky Q box regulary loses internet connection.
The sky box is a long way from the router and not suiable to wire up ethernet that far. We were specifically told by Sky not to use the ethernet from the Powerlines (AV600), And to be honest we had the same disconnects even when we did. The Sky Q booster seems to be useless - that loses connection By direct line it is only about 15ft from the Sky Q box. In fact the Sky Q box is only about 20 ft from the router although both have a partition wall between.

Ok then I don't see why the 300Mb powerlines are relevant if you're not using them. That just confuses.
Q's wifi is bad although a hardwired Q booster often works quite well - if yours is using wifi to the router, try hardwiring that to a powerline instead if it's too far from the router itself for ethernet. Only other thing I can suggest is using a wifi mesh with a node hardwired to the Q. That's what I do.

Re: Sky Q box regulary loses internet connection.
What is wrong with Sky and their cheap and flaky Q box. Mine loses its wifi connection every few days. I have changed the stand-by status with zero improvement. I am using a Deco Wifi 6 Mesh system, with the nearest node less than 10 feet from the Sky Q box. Then you have to deal with Sky's nightmare linear password entry system, rather than a matrix which every other sensible provider uses, when you have to reconnect to your wifi network. I have basically stopped using my Sky box and do everything through my Philips smart TV, which NEVER loses its wifi connection, even though it is right next to the Q box. This has been going on for years and what has Sky done about it to justify the huge montly fees they charge - *** all is the answer.
