Sky Q box not detected when powering up LG CS 55
We've had Sky Q for some years, initially with a Samsung QLED. We had a problem with this combination - when we powered up the TV, it would come up with a message saying that the HDMI 1 wasn't receiving a signal. The only solution was to unplug and reconnect the HDMI lead from the Sky Q box. Eventually Richer Sounds agreed to exchange the Samsung for an LG CS 55 OLED, and for a while it was fine. About 3 or 4 months ago the same problem started again. We've tried changing the HDMI leads with no luck. Any solutions?

Re: Sky Q box not detected when powering up LG CS 55
I've been getting this on and off for a couple of years now. In my case it's a Samsung TV but the connection is via an Onkyo receiver. It doesn't happen very often - perhaps once a month if that. I've not found a solution other than switching Sky off then on a couple of times. It may be related to a similar fault where sometimes exiting playback results in a black screen.

Hi @YorkiePete With the TV and SKYQ box both on standby, turn the SKYQ box on first by pressing the SKY logo button on the top of the remote, this should then turn the SKYQ box on followed by the TV?
I used to have superpowers… But a therapist took them away.

Re: Sky Q box not detected when powering up LG CS 55
Can't comment on Samsung TVs, but Sky Q and LG have had occasional CEC HDMI problems for many years.
On my old B6, I turned off an LG setting called QuickStart+ which seemed to help, but it still does it, just less frequently. Others have bought what is called a 'CEC blocker', which will prevent the Sky Q box automatically turning on the TV, but there are reports in other older threads of it fixing the blank screen issue.
LG B6 OLED 55” | LG UP75 LCD 43” | sky Q | sky Q Mini | SONOS Beam 2 | Apple TV 4K | EE Full Works FTTC

This will be caused by the tv being unable to 'see' the SkyQ box because it is connected to a receiver, this situation is common with some devices such as yours and Denon's.
The best way to connect the TV to the Sky box is direct through one of the other TV's HDMI ports.
