hi
I hope someone can help.
My Sky Q box keeps loosing internet connection even though it is plugged in via cable. The connection only seems to drop if I am downloading a movie or series. It will download for a few minutes, I will then start movie or show and then a few min in, the show/movie stops and says waiting to download. When I exit to main menu it says internet connection lost. I then have to do a hard reset or take the power cable out. When it turns on internet is back then cycle repeats.
I don't know why.
Please help

Hi @Ddhuskar
If you don't have any minis and your Q box is connected by Ethernet then it's best to turn off the Q box WiFi.
With the Ethernet cable connected
First carry out a Network reset with the Ethernet connected.
Network Reset found in Q box Home - Settings - Setup - Network.
Highlight Status and then select Reset on the right hand side. Select connect wired to non Sky Router (or Sky router if on Sky Broadband). Do not carry out any WPS and just wait for the box to connect. It may take a couple of minutes. If it does not connect there is an issue with the Ethernet connection.
As soon as it connects go into the Q box hidden menu and turn off WiFi. (If you have minis connected by WiFi then you have to leave the main Q box WiFi on)
To enter hidden menu press Home and navigate down to Settings but do not select Settings.
With Settings highlighted press 0 0 1 Select.
Go to Network to turn off both bands of WiFi. Confirm before exit.

Hi @oldfella
I tried your solution and it seemed to work last night.
However tonight again when I selected a movie to download, it started downloading and then 2min later then again the connection dropped.
It seems to drop connection only when I try to download something and only comes back if I switch the power off completely at the wall.

hi @Ddhuskar
Do you have the possibility to connect your Q box by Ethernet to one of your Eero units.
If so first carry out a Network reset with the Ethernet connected.
Network Reset found in Q box Home - Settings - Setup - Network.
Highlight Status and then select Reset on the right hand side. Select connect wired to non Sky Router.
Do not carry out any WPS and just wait for the box to connect. It may take a couple of minutes. If it does not connect there is an issue with the Ethernet connection.

With Settings highlighted press 0 0 1 Select.
Go to Network and turn off both bands of WiFi. Confirm before exit.

I'm having problems with connecting my q box to the internet and my mini box , I have run Ethernet cable from router to q main box and mini box, I go through the steps to connect and it comes up with a random sky network, so I turn off Wi-Fi on box and confirm it . Random sky network stays for a few minutes and then it's shows the Wi-Fi network routers info and says it's connected to it , un plugging the Ethernet does not lose the network connection , I'm at a bit of a loss here

I have a similar problem, I just wired my house with ethernet and plugged Sky Q box and 2 minis into the network. I've been through the setup changing the connection to wired router and turning off the 2.4 and 5gHZ wi-fi. Trouble is every time I turn off my main box it reverts back to wi-fi when I switch back on again. Anyone else come up against this?
