Sky Q box isn't broadcasting wifi

I have a Sky Q box in one bedroom and the router in the next bedroom. I can see and connect to the sky wifi while in the room with the router but this drops as soon as I go into the bedroom with the Sky Q box. I have checked the Sky Q settings and wifi appears to be turned on - but there still isn't a signal in that room. What else can I do ?

Do you get your broadband from Sky?

If not, the hotspot functionality has to be manually activated.
