I have the Sky Q 1TB UHD box and have just ordered 2 Mini Sky Q mini boxes.
Is the boxes available to be viewed at the same time as the main sky box?
thanks.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreYes. You can have a maximum of 4 mini boxes loaned to you by Sky. You can watch Sky content on two minis and the main box at the same time. You may be able to use a third mini box if the first one in use is being used for a streaming app ie: Netflix or DIsney+.
All 2TBs and the UHD/HDR 1TB permit two mini boxes. Each mini box which is loaned to you may be subject to a one off upfront charge but you only need one Sky Q monthly Multiscreen subscription.

Thank you very much. I am very greatful. I have subscribed and have paid an extra £50 for a second box. You answer us spot on and easy for me as a minimalist technical guy to understand. Thank you.

Ok, thank you. Am I best upgrading in the future or just sticking with the box I have? Thanks.

There aren't any upgrades for the Q platform: it's now nearly nine years old, and out of development by Sky.
The 1TB UHD box was released in late 2019 and is the most recent model. Mini boxes are essentially unchanged since early 2016.
It's likely that Sky will be looking to migrate all users to Stream (or a successor online-only product) before the end of this decade.

Ah ok. Will just wait and see. Seems it will be ok for the purposes we need. Thank you
