Re: Sky Q awful to use

Thanks Nigea99 for the info, it helped....

I deleted all my deleted recordings forever (tile still there) so I then turned my box off and on and the Recordings Continue section is now blank.

I guess the combination of both was required.

Great stuff.

Do you honestly expect Sky to listen or even care about a complaint about an out of date system - that is no longer being produced ?

They did not listen to customers when it was new - so not now.

For me - my issue is with the lack of reminders - I know that this has been raised numerous times in the past and the excuse has always been "its a streaming service" but this is not a valid reason - for people who watch live TV,  It is a real loss.

Once again, I just use my phone. It takes a couple of seconds to tell it to set a reminder.

Oh ... and I am FAR more likely to be near my phone than the TV when the reminder pops up.

@AnonymousI'm a disabled user on a lot of Morphine and Clonazepam for spasms which clouds my memory and I think Q is easy to navigate, its like a new OS on a computer, it takes time to get used to it but if you constantly fight it it will always be a pain, explore it learn it and undertsand its going to be different and it becomes second nature in my view.

Damned if you do, damned if you dont

I set Reminders on my Sky+HD box for the whole family. Not much point in my phone going off if I'm not at home.

You can't send them a message or something presumably.

@Chodley saying "sorry but due to skys inability to get its TV box correct we are going to miss your favourite program which starts in 5 minutes"?

Should have sent the message earlier.

No one misses their favourite program especially if they're sat in front of the TV and if they do it's on catch up anyway.

It's one offs that need to be seen live like sport that benefit from reminders.

so yeah it would be marginally better if it had them. It doesn't and the alternatives are more than adequate.

I gave up using reminders for sporting events way before I moved to Q - I used reminders on my phone, set for the start of the actual event, rather than the endless waffling from presenters.

Re: Sky Q awful to use

I've not long since got Sky Q , not uhd just standard hd box and I've got to say the UI is shocking , it's like a 10 year old low budget mobile phone , stuttery interface scrolling and going through menus but " it works " also the number buttons on the remote at the bottom, absolutely terrible design , especially when someone does not want to keep on talking to their remote!!!

Re: Sky Q awful to use

It is a really awful system compared with the old sky. The remote control I simply want to throw at whichever idiot designed it and thought the home button, smack bang in the middle of the remote was a good idea and to put the play and pause button at the top out of the way. I have had the control now for over a year and still regret ever swapping. It is just so user unfriendly.

Re: Sky Q awful to use

Totally agree. The reason we stuck with sky is because of the old style tv guide which was intuitive and easy to navigate compared to my dads Virgin package.  I also agree about the remote it's awful to use.
just watching a recording of only connect and when we pause the pause bar blanks out the part of the screen we wanted to see. It's beyond irritating that we are now locked into this deal. I guarantee we will will cancel on renewal.
