Q added UHD, multiple tuners, wireless multiroom and on-board apps to the Sky satellite platform, it's somewhat inevitable that this is consequently rather more complicated that the frankly primitive Sky+ infrastructure.

Nothing to do with TV - which is what I am paying for.....
@Anonymous guessing as it's Skys homepage they can advertise the fact that they have the film to buy & keep or for rent in the Sky Store no different from what they have done with other films or series I don't spend much time on the home page so the shocking pink colour didn't bother me
I may be a Sky Superuser but I am still just a Sky customer

It's outrageous. I'll have to buy the film now. 😆

Re: Sky Q awful to use
Couldn't agree more! Sky Q is terrible in every way compared to sky plus HD apart from the fact you can record more things at once!! Absolutely shocking interface and complete piece of junk!! Total waste of money!! One step forward and two steps back is definitely the case! My firestick is so much more user friendly

Apart from broadcasting in UHD and enabling the ability to record more programs simultaneously, what else have they done apart from over complicating the whole experience?

I don't know if that was a reply to an unquoted earlier post or you are just talking to yourself but what makes you think any of us are interested in spending our time justifying their design decisions or trying to make you happier about it?
But since you ask, I actually like the voice search, integrated apps (my minis are on TVs with no smart apps though I could buy firesticks for those but then, their interface isn't great either and more data for Bezos to trawl), the prettier UI, the fact you can (largely) do multiroom without extra cables, and UHD/HDR matters a lot to me.
Yeah it's over-complicated and has too many similar sounding menu choices. Shrug.

Re: Sky Q awful to use
It is diffcult to argue one way or the other with Sky Q. We have had it since it was first available and have been through various issues with the earlier teething problems but for a number of years now and since the main box was hardwired to a 900 Meg fibre broadband (Vodafone) we rarely have any issues with it at all. The increasing clutter of the UI seems to reflect the desire for Sky Q to become a one stop shop for a range of add on streaming services but to be honest many of these are better accessed through a Smart TV interface as the Sky Q box is a bit flaky in its delivery of these services especially the 4K HDR versions. Nevertheless I am not enamoured with the UIs of many of the streaming services - Prime is a mess, and Paramount a clunky shambles - Apple TV+ and Disney are among the most accessible. So overall, apart from the fact that I suspect the hardware is now getting past its sell-by date Sky Q is okay - at least you can find stuff through voice search eventually, although I doubt my 96 year old father in law would agree..

Come to that, what does an iPhone 15 or Galaxy 22 do that a Nokia 3310 can't?

@Anonymous
My ponit was a 3310 is the same vintage as the Sky+ platform (early 2000s) and things have indeed got a little more complicated since then.

Lot more than HD on a modern phone. Higher res than 4k aren't they? Crazy how that technology has advanced so quickly.

Re: Sky Q awful to use
Had sky q about 8 months now and still hate the menu / format, so over complicated compared to plus.
I realise I'm maybe old school and wanted to give it time to get used to , but I'm sorry to say it's awful in my opinion
Still don't understand what I'm doing and hate the remote.
Seem to have to go through so many more stages to achieve the same results. Horrible. Interface , very disappointing as the system and mini link are really good.
Please please do an update SKY and sort out out.

Very unlikely now in the later stages of Sky Q's lifespan especially as the majority of customers have adapted to it.
