I have recently moved house and not yet informed Sky. To cut a long story short i connected Sky Q box to non Sky wifi a few weeks ago and was able use apps. However now it does not work, states i need satellite signal.
Any remedies for this?? Tried refreshing apps and reconnecting wifi.

Just one. Reconnect the dish.

Unfortunately i cannot do this at the moment as where i have moved to is temporary at the moment. Only an old dish at current property.

A Sky Q box will only work for a little while without a satellite signal. It won't work now until it's connected to the dish.

Unfortunately as @PandJ2020 says, you will be stuck until you can reconnect it to a suitable LNB (the electronic bit on the dish)
The box needs a periodic authorisation signal (via Satellite) and although sometimes it allows use for a few days, after that you need the signal for it to work

Many thanks for the info, we lost Satellite signal 3 weeks ago due to scaffolding erected at next door neighbour. However, still able to stream via WiFi to Q box.
Then, after over 3 weeks, it stopped half way through a movie on Netflix. Rebooted but now get the message 'Satellite signal required' when trying to access apps despite Wi-Fi being connected to the box.
Sky engineer appointment in a few days so it's DVD's for us until then.

Although apps don't appear to work you can use the voice command or search to find something you know is on an app. It will find it and boot the app. Once in the app you can do usual searching etc
