I am about to renew my broadband (diff provider to sky) and they are phasing out landlines so I cannot renew with that option. I have Sky Q. Do i need a landline for my Sky Q to work? I think so long as i have broadband its ok but if they shut off the land line do i have to reconfigure anything on sky?
any ideas anyone?

@JLeg Sky Q does not require a landline, having just broadband is fine.

Re: Sky Q and landline telephones
Sorry to hijack the thread but it's very similar to my question if I may?
I currently have Sky Dish, Sky Q, 2 mini boxes, Sky Broadband and a landline.
Due to very slow guaranteed internet speeds and zero need for the landline I intend to cancel the landline and the broadband. The broadband will be replaced with a different provider. Simply, if I do this, will the Sky Q and record features etc still work. I ask as I read somewhere else that you need a phone or Sky Broadband connection for catch up and recording etc to work. Also, will Sky Q work with
a different internet provider or will I need a different router to the Sky one I presently have.
I have searched through the forum but haven't been able to sort this out. Please bear in mind I'm very un tech savvy.
Thanks for any info you may be able to provide.
Best regards
Ian

Hi @Ianellis Quite simply, Sky Q works with all types of land based broadband (mobile broadband may be a challenge). Sky Q cannot use home telephones because there is no telephone connection. It uses broadband to talk to Sky. I have never had Sky broadband in my life.

Also starlink works, not just land based.
