Sky Q and Sky Stream in the same house, do you required two packages

We have sky Q in one room, but do not have a satellite in another room so looking at either Sky Stream or Sky Glass.Would you need to take. out two packages or just one with option of both?

You can't have Sky Q & Sky stream at the same address.

You need to choose between them,  Sky Q can have minis added but minis are not UHD capable.

Stream relies on the broadband connection and has no recording facilities relying on playists.

Sky Q Mini boxes do not use a direct satellite dish connection: their data comes from the main Q box, typically over WiFi.  Only the main Q box has a satellite dish feed cable.

thankyou for your answer.  one room as satellite but not the other. so we are trying to figure out a solution. Would the same be if you had Sky Q and purchase a sky glass for the room without satellite connection?

@smul As already advised you can't have 2 different services at the same address whether that is Stream or Glass & Sky Q

You only need to request a Sky Q mini as explained by @TimmyBGood  this connects to the main box and does not have it's own satellite cable/dish nor does it need one.

Hi @smul

With Sky Q it's simple to have a Main Q box (connected to the Satellite dish by the twin cables) and then take a Q Multiscreen subscription and a mini for your second TV.

The minis connect by WiF to the main Q box.

You can have up to four minis installed on loan each subject to a one off upfront charge and all under by one single Q monthly Multiscreen subscription
However only two minis can be used simultaneously on all 2 TB boxes and the 1 TB UHD Main boxes to watch Sky Q content.
The original 1 TB non UHD box only permits the use of one mini at a time.
If Sky Apps are already being used on some of the minis these will not normally be counted as in Q use and therefore can be used in addition to the above limits.
See the following link for the Versions of main Q box referred to above.
https://www.sky.com/help/articles/sky-software-updates.
Subject to the above limits Sky Q minis can be used completely independently of the main Q box and the same or different program or recording can be viewed on each Q box. Even if viewing the same content it is completely independent and can be viewed at the same or different point.
Minis can do all the features same as the main Q box and can set or delete recordings on the main Q box hard drive. There is one single storage area on the main Q box with no profiles and no indication of which Q box has set a recording. (Unlike Sky+HD Multiroom which has independent storage and planners).
It should also be remembered that minis cannot view UHD recordings or content.

sorry didn't explain fully. We need to buy a TV for the other room, so just working out options, one was that we might invest in Sky Glass and not have to worry about any extra bits.

@smul  Either way you would need Sky Q with a related Q mini & purchase a standard smart TV

Or Get Sky Glass, you would need  stream puck where you currently have Sky Q

So you still need the "extra bits"

Hi @smul

If you are considering a Sky Glass TV there is no point in doing this if you are keeping your Q subscription and Q box.

Far better to purchase a good Quality smart TV which is much more versatile and can be used with a Q minibox. (although this will not be UHD capable).

If you are considering  a Glass Subscription do a full research as it wasn't well received initially.

Yes they are. @smul

However remember Sky Stream ( and also Sky Glass) have no recording facilities.

Stream pucks are capable of both HD and UHD output.  In a Stream subscription HD is included as standard (unlike Sky+ / Sky Q) but UHD has an additional monthly cost.
