Im wanting to have Sky Q installed but one of our mini boxes is to go into our garage which is not integral. The engineer said we need to connect the main Sky Q box with Ethernet and also the mini box that will be in the garage via Ethernet also. The mini box in the kitchen will be fine on wifi. Not being very teccy does the Ethernet cable have to connect directly with the broadband router in the hall way or can it connect to where the internet goes into the house and into the back of the ethernet point

Yeah I think they should be able to see each other via the router over ethernet. If you are on sky bb then wifi via the router should work, but if not, the mini on wifi has to be able to connect directly to the Q.
