Sky Q UHD HDR too dark

Hi, I have a Sony 49XH9505 and Sky Q.

I never used to have any issues with HDR content, all I used to have to do when watching it was change Live Colour to High and the picture was perfect.

Some time ago HDR became incredibly dark. Even increasing brightness, contrast, gamma to maximum the picture is still too dark. As soon as I stop watching HDR content the picture reverts to its usual brightness. I have Netflix and Prime through Sky and their HDR content still plays perfectly with no darkness issues.

Can anyone explain what's happened/suggest a solution? The equipment has not changed, no settings have been changed and Sky HDR content used to play perfectly so I'm baffled.

Many thanks.

Are the Q box display settings still 2160P 10bit?

I am just another Sky customer and my views are my own even if you don't like the answers

And ... HDR on sky is HLG which is very different from HDR10 on the streaming apps

the fact it's changed suggests some dynamic behaviour from the TV maybe

Dynamic behaviour as in it doesn't need settings changed, it just does it

That "live colour"=High setting  shouldn't have ever been needed for HDR. It's an artificial enhancement. HDR content should look vibrant anyway with default settings and the Sony H950 has a decent peak brightness.

Does it flip to max contrast and brightness automatically on a HDR signal?

Re: Sky Q UHD HDR too dark

The live colour was just my personal preference.

No it doesn't switch automatically, I've assigned those settings to a custom channel to watch sky hdr content on now, but even with them maxed out the picture is still dim. Video signal format is on auto, I've read that sky hdr is hlg so have tried using that format but have the same issue. I just don't understand how it used to work perfectly and now doesn't and nothing I do can get it back to how it was?

No, very strange. I would be onto Sony as well to see if they have any suggestions
