I've received a letter offering Sky Q TV box at no extra cost, however when I call the number provided, an automated voice is asking for my account password, mother's maiden name and other personal information. I'm just wondering is this is a scam...!?

Hi @Vicky24 There is a promotion ongoing at the moment, so not a scam letter.
I presume that you have SKY+ if you are thinking of taking up the offer, I would suggest you find out the differences between the two platforms before you commit to a change.

Fair comment @Quoman7 scammers will also know about these promotions
When I've rung Sky I've never had to give out that much sensitive information.
So in my honest opinion I'm seeing a red flag is it a Sky number the OP is actually calling

(removed). I can't find the number on the sky website, so that's another reason for my query.
Moderator note: Removed phone number.

Fair comment @Daniel0210 but @Vicky24 hasn't mentioned the number it could be an entirely different number for the dedicated number for the offer you mention

You have to give your password to the automated system every time you call Sky now. It's been like that for a while.

Password ok (we all use unique passwords don't we people?!). And when you call the known number ok.
New number from a letter out of the blue and Mother's maiden name?
