Sky Q - Recordings are failing

Hello,

Long time Sky user and I am currently on my 2nd Sky Q box.

Virtual assistant is useless at answering and the contact number for Sky Ireland does not connect.

 

So, at least twice a week I am having the following issues on the Sky Q:

  • Either a recording fails with "PowerCut" message - there is no power issues
  • "There is a problem viewing this channel" - doesnt make sense as this appears when viewing recordings!
  • Other times the screen freezes and the remote does not work. Sky Q needs to be powered off on the way and it goes through the usual "Ready to go in a few minutes" etc. This fixes the issue for a few days until the same thing happens again.

I am getting very frustrated with this. I think a new box is needed, but I cant get through to anyone in Sky to get this arranged.

What's happening when you try to contact Sky Ireland? What time of day are you calling as I think their operating hours are not the same as in the UK?

It is just saying that they cannot complete the call - around 2pm.

It isnt even reaching the menu system
