Sky Q Mini lack of connectivity - Outside Cabin
Hello,
I am having trouble setting up my SKY Q mini in a outside cabin.
Current Set up
Sky Q main box in lounge connected wirelssely to SKY Router/Broadband.
Hardwired ethernet cable direct from router to back of property that connects to a DrayTek vigor AP906 access point.
New TV in cabin connects to the DrayTek/Wifi and appears to work as expected.
After a few resets on the Mini and going thorugh the network settings, the Mini box did pick up my Sky WIFI, but when trying to connect it has troubles connecting to the internet. I feel the Draytek might be blocking access linked to IP/DCHP (not experienced here!)
Any help or assitance would be great.
Thank you

Hi @RossF
Sky Q minis will not connect reliably to 3rd party access points or WiFi.
If you have Ethernet in your cabin connected directly to your Sky Router then connect the Ethernet directly to the mini.
When Mini boxes are connected by Ethernet you can then switch off all the mini WiFi WiFi.
Carry out a Network reset on the mini with the Ethernet connected.
Network Reset found in mini box Home - Settings - Setup - Network.
Highlight Status and then select Reset on the right hand side. Do not carry out any WPS and just wait for the min box to connect. It may take a couple of minutes. If it does not connect there is an issue with the Ethernet connection.
As soon as it connects immediately go into the mini box hidden menu and turn off WiFi.
To enter hidden menu press Home and navigate down to Settings but do not select Settings.
With Settings highlighted press 0 0 1 Select.
Go to Network to turn off both bands of WiFi. Confirm before exit.
If you need to connect any other devices to the Ethernet in your cabin then you will need a simple unmanaged Ethernet switch. Something like the following.

Re: Sky Q Mini lack of connectivity - Outside Cabin
Thank you very much for your quick and detailed resonse @oldfella . Unfortuantley, the Unit and TV/Mini are on opposite sides of the room, so was hoping to avoid this route (never planned on using Multiroom!)
Thanks again.

Hi @RossF
The only way that I can see the mini working onWiFi is to connect a Sky Q WiFi booster to the Ethernet and use this for WiFi. This would be on the same ID as as your Sky router
