Not really @Blighty

All Q boxes included minis should be put into standby when not in use so that they can carry out updates and housekeeping.

Thank you. That is unfortunate. I will either need to cover the LED with tape or use a smart plug to switch the bedroom mini off at night.

I have often had a problem with hotel bedrooms, which are lit up by LEDs. I like to sleep in a dark room.

Hi @Blighty

I wouldn't have thought that the Mini Standby led is bright enough to cause an issue.

However if you cannot stand the glow and do switch it off at night just be aware that it will take a short while to reboot each morning when you power it on.

If you turn it completely off it will have to reconnect to the main Q box WiFi and so you may need to reconsider if you have mini connectivity issues each morning.

Also when periodic updates are released the mini will not pick them up.  These do not happen very frequently but it is another thing to keep one eye on.

Thank you. Tape may be a better answer, then. Some devices, e.g. BT Whole Home, provide an LED switch off via the app.

You'll find sets of LED dimming stickers on Amazon and eBay.
